Battery Service
Test the battery, the alternator and the drain before selling you a battery.
Doorstep service
A large share of roadside calls turn out to be a handful of causes: a flat or failing battery, a flat tyre, running out of fuel, overheating, or an electrical fault that immobilises the car. Most of those are fixable where the car stopped, provided the person who arrives has the right equipment and knows how to diagnose rather than just jump-start and leave.
The rest need recovery, and being honest about that early matters. A car that has overheated badly, lost oil pressure, or suffered a suspected timing failure should not be restarted and driven - doing so is how a repairable fault becomes an engine replacement. If that is the situation, we will tell you to stop rather than get you moving for another two kilometres.
Before anyone arrives, your safety comes first: get the car as far off the carriageway as possible, put the hazards on, and get yourself and your passengers behind a barrier and away from moving traffic. Then call us. We would rather you were standing somewhere safe when we speak to you.
Scope of work
Why it matters
Many roadside faults are fixable on the spot. Someone who can diagnose gets you moving more often than someone who can only tow.
If restarting the car would cause serious damage, we will say so - even though that is the less convenient answer.
The first thing we establish is whether you are somewhere safe, before we discuss the car at all.
A roadside fix is a starting point. The underlying cause is followed up with a proper diagnosis at your address.
How the visit runs
We establish your location, your safety and the symptoms, then dispatch the nearest available technician.
Hazards on, car off the carriageway if possible, and everyone out of the vehicle and behind a barrier.
The technician establishes the actual fault before attempting a fix, so the repair matches the problem.
Where it is safely repairable on the spot, it is. Where it is not, recovery is arranged and explained.
The underlying cause is booked in for proper diagnosis so the same breakdown does not repeat.
