Doorstep service
A lead-acid battery has two separate jobs: deliver a very high current for a few seconds to crank the engine, and hold a stable voltage for the electronics. A battery can pass a simple voltage check and still fail badly under cranking load, which is why a proper test loads it rather than just reading it.
Heat is what kills batteries in this climate. High ambient temperature accelerates the internal chemistry and the grid corrosion that eventually ends a battery's life, which is why batteries here often live shorter lives than their rating suggests. The failure is usually sudden from the driver's point of view even though the decline was gradual.
The other two suspects need ruling out. If the alternator is undercharging, a brand new battery will be flat within weeks. If there is a parasitic drain, the same. Testing all three takes a few extra minutes and saves you from buying the same battery twice.
Scope of work
Why it matters
We test the charging system and the drain too, so you replace the battery only if the battery is the problem.
Capacity, terminal layout and physical fit are matched to your car rather than approximated.
No towing and no jump-start gamble to get to a shop - the replacement happens at your address.
The removed battery leaves with the technician for recycling rather than sitting in your garage.
How the visit runs
State of charge and state of health are tested under load, which reveals weakness a voltage reading hides.
Alternator output is measured at idle and under load to confirm the battery is actually being replenished.
If the pattern suggests overnight discharge, current draw is measured with the car asleep.
If the battery is the fault, a correctly specified replacement is fitted with memory retention where required.
Charging is re-verified after fitting, terminals are protected and the old battery is taken for recycling.
