What this service actually covers
Our only interest is your decision. We are not selling you the car and we take nothing from the seller, so the report says what the car is rather than what anyone wants it to be. That independence is the entire point of the exercise.
The inspection covers three things a test drive cannot. Accident history: paint depth readings across the panels and gap measurements reveal repairs that a shine hides. Mechanical condition: a full module scan, a compression assessment where indicated, and a proper look underneath. And consistency: whether the odometer, the wear on the pedals and steering wheel, and the service records tell the same story.
You get the report whether you buy or not. If the car is sound, you buy with confidence. If it needs work, you have an itemised list to negotiate against. And if it has structural damage or a serious fault, you have avoided a purchase that would have cost far more than the inspection.

Why it matters
What you get out of it
Genuinely independent
We take nothing from the seller. The report reflects the car's condition, not anyone's interest in selling it.
Negotiating evidence
An itemised list of what needs doing is far more persuasive than an impression that the car needs work.
Repair history exposed
Paint depth and gap measurements reveal accident repairs that a polish and a good photo hide completely.
Report in hand quickly
You get the photographic report while the decision is still live, so you are not asked to commit blind.
How the visit runs
Pre-Purchase Inspection, step by step
- 01
Arrange access
You tell us where the car is and when the seller can make it available. We inspect it there.
- 02
Body and structure
Paint depth, panel gaps, underbody and structural points are checked for evidence of accident repair.
- 03
Mechanical and electronic
Full module scan, engine and transmission assessment, brakes, suspension, tyres and electrical function.
- 04
Road test where permitted
Driving the car reveals gearbox, steering, braking and noise issues that a static inspection cannot.
- 05
Photographic report
Findings are graded by severity with photographs and an indicative repair list you can negotiate from.
A tidy used car carrying 400 microns of paint down one side. That is a worked example of this sequence rather than a customer’s job, written out from the first symptom to the reading that confirmed the repair.
